National Trust

To mark the National Trust’s 130th anniversary in 2025 and the launch of their new strategy – People and Nature Thriving – they are explanding their apprenticeship programme.

Over the coming years, they plan to create even more apprenticeship opportunities and to raise awareness of the National Trust as an employer for all.

Who are the National Trust?

The National Trust looks after more than 500 properties and parks throughout the UK, from castles to coastlines, and manors to mansions.

The wide range of unique locations and job roles means that there are many different career opportunities available – including outdoor, indoor and office-based roles.

Where are the Apprenticeships?

Opportunities in 2026 will include the following locations:

  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • Derby
  • London
  • Luton
  • Manchester
  • Middlesborough
  • Newcastle-Upon-Tyne
  • Reading
  • Swindon
  • Wolverhampton

To ensure these places continue to thrive for future generations, the National Trust is committed to widening access to careers across heritage, conservation and professional services.

Apprenticeships available in 2026

Some 2026 apprenticeship roles have now closed for applications, including Project Management, Business Admin, Marketing and others.

However, Customer Service and Community Activator Coach apprenticeships will open for applications in June 2026. If you’re interested in these roles, please register your interest below to receive updates.

Who Can Apply?

The National Trust’s commitment is “For everyone, for ever.” Bringing that promise to life starts with the people that work here. It means building teams with a diverse range of backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. It means creating an inclusive environment where everyone is able to thrive.

Our apprenticeships are open to all. However, we particularly welcome applications from People of Colour and People of the Global Majority, because they are underrepresented at the Trust.

We’re also working closely with schools, colleges, and community organisations. As we want to help more people to discover the career opportunities, development, and meaningful work that can be accessed by doing a National Trust apprenticeship.
