Apprenticeships Changing Lives at East Norfolk – East Norfolk Sixth Form College
December 1, 2025
East Norfolk Sixth Form College was awarded Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employer status in 2025 due to our focus on continuous development through degree apprenticeships. Employing now around 30 former students and colleagues on undergraduate and post-graduate apprenticeships, we are ensuring that Great Yarmouth rapidly increases the number of graduates who live and work in our community as well as raising aspirations through study and progression at work.
Our undergraduate apprentices, the majority of which are former students, study Management, Information Systems, Data Science and Youth Work, all being supported and challenged in their learning and their roles. Our postgraduate apprentices are current colleagues studying AI and Data Science and Leadership and Management.
Our learning culture is ensuring that while we are the only remaining Sixth Form College in Norfolk, we remain up to date, share good practice and support our former students into entry profile roles. By offering degree apprenticeships we not only retain skills locally for the local workforce but also it helps to address skills gaps in the local economy and has resulted in us having very few vacancies for staff which is uncommon in education. Recruiting our former students encourages our current students to aim high and shows them that Higher Education has many paths and is always to them, particularly due to our social and economic disadvantage. Our commitment to degree apprenticeships is certainly helping social mobility and we are very proud to offer such a wide range of opportunities working with several different universities.
