Apprenticeships Speed Meeting – St George’s CofE Foundation School

March 13, 2026

We held a ‘speed meeting’ event inspired by the speed-dating format, with small groups of pupils at each guest table, timed running for their conversations and groups rotating as the timer sounds.

The guests we invited ranged from:

  • Higher Apprenticeship providers
  • Local businesses offering apprenticeships
  • National providers including Network Rail and the Navy
  • DWP who provided support with applications
  • Alumni currently undertaking apprenticeships

Feedback was great from both pupils and the visitors and all requested a repeat in the future. As part of the feedback forms for both pupils and guests we included an option for them to share details for follow-up interactions and our Sixth Form pupils in particular have taken advantage of this.
