Delivering Careers Education in an Online Setting – Minerva Virtual Academy
June 22, 2026
At Minerva Virtual Academy, we embrace our unique identity as an online school by transforming traditional career guidance into a dynamic, accessible digital experience.
A prime example of this was our recent whole-school Careers Week, where we brought the professional world directly to our students’ screens. Industry professionals “came in” to share their personal journeys, illustrating how apprenticeships and BTEC qualifications can pave the way to highly successful careers. This initiative was integrated into our virtual assemblies, where pupils engaged in interactive activities designed to spark meaningful, positive conversations about diverse educational pathways.
To add further depth to these insights, we collaborated closely with external apprenticeship providers. These organisations supplied exclusive video content and resources, giving our students a first-hand look at what to expect from their programmes. These materials also taught our students exactly how to stand out in a competitive application process, ensuring they feel confident when pursuing these technical routes.
Beyond these focused events, we provide continuous, robust support through Unifrog, our all-in-one careers platform accessible to all students.
Unifrog empowers our learners to independently explore live apprenticeship vacancies, build standout CVs, practise interview techniques, and tailor their applications to align with their long-term ambitions.
This digital toolkit is backed by a deeply inclusive Careers Programme that bridges the virtual and physical worlds, offering face-to-face and virtual work experience, strengths sessions for younger students, and practical workshops for those eager to transition straight into the workforce.
