Apprenticeships
After completing A-levels, T Levels, or BTECs, you can start an apprenticeship at levels 2–7, depending on your qualifications and the role.
The great thing about apprenticeships is that they offer really clear progression opportunities. You may start as an advanced apprentice (level 3), but you will potentially be able to progress through to a degree apprenticeship too. Many employers will use advanced apprenticeships as the route into that role, so if you rule them out, you miss the chance to start a career in many jobs and industries.
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs)
Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs) are level 4 and 5 qualifications that have been approved to deliver the skills employers need because they are high-quality, job-focused qualifications.
HTQs are a great option if you want to continue learning in a classroom environment, but don’t want the time and cost commitments of a full degree.
