Small Business Summer
What is Small Business Summer?
Small Business Summer is a brand-new careers campaign brought to you by Amazing Apprenticeships and supported by the Edge Foundation.
It will support young people to increase their awareness of small businesses in their local community, and to understand the unique benefits of being an apprentice in a smaller organisation.
For small businesses, we’re supporting them to take the next step, and to be aware of the different ways that they can connect with local talent that they may be unaware of.
School Resources
Free resources to help students explore and engage with small businesses.
Employer Support
Free advice, support and guidance for businesses getting started with apprenticeships.

Hear from small businesses and their apprentices
Why is it needed?
In England (and the wider UK), around 99% of all businesses are classed as small or medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) meaning they employ fewer than 250 people. However, surveys of young people show that many feel they don’t know what jobs exist locally, which employers are nearby, or how to access them.
This careers campaign complements the wider Edge Foundation campaign, Apprenticeships Work. It aims to raise awareness among young people about local apprenticeship opportunities and the value of working with small businesses, while also improving understanding of how to explore, search and apply for these roles through dedicated resources and activities.
