Celebrating National Care Leavers’ Month
October 20, 2025

This year, National Care Leavers’ Week becomes National Care Leavers’ Month and will be celebrated throughout November. National Care Leavers’ Month focuses on celebrating care leavers and aims to raise awareness of the issues in the care system and the challenges care-experienced young people continue to face.
Amazing Apprenticeships is committed to supporting young people to explore and access apprenticeships. We’re passionate about making sure every young person, especially those from marginalised or disadvantaged backgrounds, has access to opportunities. One way we do this is through our Moving On Up Network, a community of like-minded organisations who are working to support an increase in care experienced young people accessing apprenticeships. You can join the network for free. To find out more, please click here.

To mark National Care Leavers’ Month, we’re excited to launch a brand-new suite of free resources designed for care experienced young people and those supporting them. The resources include eye-catching posters which raise awareness of the Care Leavers’ Bursary supports care experienced apprentices. These are perfect for sharing in schools, colleges and community settings.
There is also a comprehensive guide to apprenticeships tailored specifically for care experienced young people and those who support them. The guide covers everything from what an apprenticeship is, how to find one, how to apply, what support is available and signposts to additional helpful resources.
We hope this new suite of resources will help care experienced young people to know that apprenticeships are a real option for them, and that there is additional financial support available to help them pursue this option.
