Hi, I’m Steve Jenkins and I’m a Senior Manager within the Department for Work and Pensions, overseeing National Apprenticeship Week, the Top 100 Employers and the National Apprenticeship & Skills Awards.

Amazing Apprenticeships’ SEND Advisory Network consists of over 300 careers professionals from across England, meeting termly and representing mainstream schools, special schools, SEMH settings, employment services such as Jobcentre Plus, Local Authorities, training providers and employers.

Across Essex, Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) is focused on ensuring young people with SEND are supported to achieve positive outcomes in employment, independent living, good health, and community inclusion. Central to this approach is listening to young people’s aspirations and ensuring the system responds in a coordinated, purposeful way.

The Genie Connect Summer Conference Series launched this week with a highly engaged and thought-provoking session, bringing together employers, training providers and partners to explore how we can unlock more Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeship opportunities for young people.
