What makes us a great employer

Financial and holiday benefits

We remove barriers to independence, including support with driving lessons. Transport shouldn’t be the thing that holds someone back. That’s why we offer up to £400 in driving lesson support, helping apprentices gain the independence, confidence and mobility they need to seize every opportunity.

We pay apprentices above the national minimum wage. Our apprentices earn £11.33–£11.78 per hour, because we believe great talent deserves a great start. This isn’t just a pay rate, it’s a statement of value and respect for the contribution apprentices make from day one.

Lifestyle savings – Our Lifestyle Savings scheme is were colleagues can access a fantastic range of offers and discounts from a huge collection of online and high-street retailers, all year round. From everyday savings to travel deals, discounted gym memberships to money off the latest tech and fashion, and so much more.

Holliday allowance – We know how important work-life balance is for our colleagues and we encourage our colleagues to take time off throughout the year, and utilise the full extent of their allowance. We offer a minimum of 24 days’ annual leave plus 8 bank holidays with the option to buy up to 5 additional holiday days utilising our flexible benefits scheme.

Mentoring and Support

We are committed to nurturing, supporting and developing our future workforce and our apprenticeship programmes are key to this. Being an apprentice with us really does mean you are the future of our business!

We offer mentorship and development that extends far beyond the ‘day job’. Our apprentices aren’t left to figure things out alone. They benefit from structured mentorship, access to role models and personal development that sets them up for long-term career success.

We build real-world skills through partnerships and exposure to leaders. We don’t just teach technical skills, we help apprentices grow life skills, financial confidence and organisational awareness. Through our partnership with Barclays LifeSkills, apprentices receive practical financial education, and our Careers Spotlight sessions give them direct access to our Executive Team for inspiration and insight.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment were all colleagues can thrive, feel empowered, motivated, trusted and valued. This is supported by our vision to move life forward and our four core values:

  • Respect
  • Support
  • Fairness
  • Accountable.

We believe that a diverse and inclusive culture is one where people respect and celebrate their differences and everyone has the chance to succeed.

We know that having a diverse workforce encourages new perspectives, inspires creativity and creates an engaging workplace. We want to embrace the talents, beliefs, backgrounds and abilities of all our colleagues.

Health and Wellbeing

Your health and well-being are important to us, so we offer a range of ways to support you, and we believe that accessible healthcare is important, including:

GP Helpline – We know that some people have challenges getting a doctor’s appointment. To help, we’ve partnered with BHSF to provide a Private GP helpline for all colleagues and their family members who live at the same address.

Healthcare plan – We’ve teamed up with Medicash so you can claim money back towards the cost of your everyday healthcare, including dental treatment, optical care, prescription costs, physiotherapy, chiropody and much more.

Wellbeing centre – Our Employee Assistance Programme is here to help our colleagues with almost anything they may need, including financial stress, health and lifestyle, legal queries and any work and home life issues.

Apprenticeships Details

Our apprenticeship programme

Our apprenticeship programme is all about opening doors and helping you build a real career, no matter your background, experience or age. Whether you’re leaving school, changing direction or just curious about what’s next, we offer loads of different pathways, from Level 2 all the way up to degree apprenticeships at Level 6. You can join at the level that suits you and grow your career step by step.

You will learn from our talented colleagues, gain a nationally recognised qualification, take part in bespoke training linked to your apprenticeship role, join our apprentice cohort events and get the opportunity to train as a STEM ambassador.

We create every programme with expert training providers and you’ll be supported by managers who are specially trained to help you succeed. From your very first day, you’ll have a dedicated mentor and a clear development plan, with regular feedback and support from both us and your training provider. It’s a mix of hands‑on experience, guided learning and personalised support, everything you need to feel confident and make progress.

Your apprenticeship journey

We want you to reach your full potential and have the best start to your career with us.

We onboard our apprentices at two main points in the year: March and September.

  • For our March intake, roles will be advertised from November onwards.
  • For our September intake, roles will be advertised from January and April, depending on the apprenticeship level.

Once you begin your apprenticeship with us, you will get a three-day induction to make sure you have the best start possible in your role. After that, you will work with your apprenticeship training provider to be inducted into your apprenticeship qualification and receive all your key training dates and access to your online portfolio system.

At the end of your apprenticeship, you will sit an End Point Assessment (EPA). There is no need to worry, we will support you throughout this process. Once you have passed your EPA, you will have the opportunity to move into your next role with us and continue your career journey.

T Levels

T Levels are an alternative to A Levels and apprenticeships, and they are worth 3x A Level grades.

Students spend 80% of their course in the classroom and 20% in an industry placement which lasts at least 315 hours or approximately 45 days. We can support students with their industry placements for the following T Levels:

  • Business and Administration
  • Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction
  • Finance
  • Accounting

Our Work Experience

We want as many young people as possible to experience what our business and our industry are like, encouraging them to pursue a career in STEM, supporting them to develop their employability skills and offering advice and guidance to them as they make decisions on possible future career choices. We offer physical work experience placements around our business, both office and site-based and will consider all applications, no matter what a student’s ability is.
