Starting salary

Based on the apprenticeship programme you choose, our salaries start from £20,000 +.

Apprenticeships Designed for Long-Term Career Growth

Our apprenticeships are crafted to foster long-term career development within Ibstock. Many of our former apprentices, including Manufacturing Management trainees and engineering apprentices, have progressed to leadership roles, such as Factory Managers.

Manufacturing Management trainee

Our Manufacturing Management Trainee Apprenticeship is a 4-year programme where you will undertake the Mineral Products Technician Apprenticeship at Level 5. In addition, you will complete a Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship.

You will study specialist modules, including Clay Evaluation and Investigation at the University of Derby, gaining a nationally recognised qualification and developing the skills needed to step into key roles like Assistant Technical Manager upon completion. In addition to this, upon successful completion, we would be happy to support you with progression towards a full degree in BSc (Hons) Minerals Management.

Dual-Skilled Apprentice Engineer

Take your first step towards becoming a fully qualified engineer by completing our 4-year Dual-Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme.

This is a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship, combining study at the Make UK Engineering Training School in Birmingham with hands-on experience learning from a mentor at one of our factories.

During the first year, you will attend Make UK Training School for 4 weeks at a time to study and then you will return to the factory for 2 weeks to apply the skills you have learnt during those 4 weeks.

In the following years, you will be based at the factory and have block release weeks to the training school.

Entry requirements

We are looking for applicants who have a passion for learning and demonstrate a positive approach to work.

We are also looking for a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and Science.

Additional requirements may be required and they will be outlined in the advert for the individual roles.

    Start your application by filling in Ibstock’s online application form. Make sure your details are accurate and take a moment to check everything before submitting — this is your chance to show who you are and why you’d be a great fit.

    If your application is successful, you’ll be invited to a telephone or Microsoft Teams interview. This is a chance for Ibstock to get to know you better and for you to ask any questions about the role, the team, or what it’s like to work at the company.

  4. 3

    The video interview gives you the opportunity to showcase your personality and skills in more detail. You’ll be asked a series of questions and can complete the interview at a time that suits you, so you can feel comfortable and prepared.

  5. 4

    The final stage may involve attending an assessment centre or a final interview. This is your chance to:

    • Take part in activities
    • Meet the team
    • show how you work in real-life scenarios, while also learning more about the role and the business.
  6. 5

    If you’re successful, you’ll receive a job offer outlining the role, salary, and next steps. This is the exciting final stage where everything comes together and you can start preparing for your future at Ibstock.
